
Nation's First Biofuels Corridor Opens

The Interstate 65 "Clean Corridor" opened October 7th, 8th and 9th with the beginning of a three day drive fueled entirely on biofuels such as E85 ethanol and B20 biodiesel. Similar to the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad in 1869, the I-65 Clean Corridor is transforming transportation in America. Today drivers from Indiana and Alabama embarked from corridor anchor stations in Gary, Indiana and Mobile, Alabama on a journey to meet in Southern Indiana to celebrate the corridors opening. Two Clean Corridor Biofuels Stations Open in Mobile
September 26, 2008. Mobile, AL - Alabama took another step Friday toward energy diversity that will limit future gasoline scarcity issues and the related price spikes with the opening of new E85 ethanol and B20 biodiesel pumps at two gas station in Mobile. E85 for 85 cents, more stations coming
May 16, 2008. Birmingham, AL - E85 ethanol sold for 85 cents for 85 minutes, Wednesday, May 14th, at the Dogwood Shell Station in Vestavia Hills. Over 100 cars lined up and were filled up with the cleaner burning E85 ethanol at this, the first biofuels station located on the I-65 Clean Corridor in Alabama! This was the "second phase" of marketing for this Clean Corridor station...the first being the Grand Opening on March 10th. General Motors, the largest producer of Flex Fuel Vehicles (FFV's), sponsored this special event featuring E85.

First Alabama I-65 Biofuels Clean Corridor Station Opens.
March 10, 2008. The first E85 ethanol and B20 biodiesel biofuels station on I-65 in Alabama opened today in Vestavia Hills (Birmingham) at the Dogwood Shell station on Montgomery highway.

Today Governor Riley announced the first round of Grants on the I-65 Clean Corridor. The announcement took place at 11:30 at the Dogwood Shell Station in Vestavia Hills (1488 Montgomery Highway). Other Clean Corridor biofuel station locations announced today by the Governor will serve the Mobile, Athens and Cullman markets along I-65.
