Application Deadline Extension - Targeted Area Only: An initial review of the applications submitted for the I-65 Clean Corridor Grant Program has been completed by ADECA and the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition. Based on this review, a second call for applications is being issued for a targeted area in order to complete the availability of E85 along the entire length of the corridor. We have extended the deadline for applications until December 17th. See below.
Applications are requested for either E85 only, or Biofuel Islands, (E85 and B20 Biodiesel) to be located between Evergreen and Prattville. A strong preference will be given to applications for locations in the Montgomery area (north Montgomery in the Prattville area or in the southern part of Montgomery). All other previously issued guidelines, scoring criteria, and applications remain in force.
Targeted Area: Between Evergreen and Prattville
Type of Applications: E85 only or Biofuel Islands (E85 and B20 Biodiesel)
Strong Preference to locations in Montgomery Area (both North and South of City)
Application Due Date: 5:00 PM December 17, 2007
Purpose
The availability of E-85 Ethanol as a motor fuel is rapidly spreading across the country. More and more vehicles are being produced that are Flex Fuel vehicles (FFV's) which can use either E-85 ethanol or unleaded gas. Currently we have no E-85 public access commercial stations in Alabama.
B20 biodiesel can be used in any diesel vehicle today. While there are 20+ stations currently offering B20 in Alabama there is room for many, many more - especially along I-65.
The purpose of the I-65 Clean Corridor Workshops is to provide a FREE forum for you to learn about both the fuels and what it takes to make them available at your retail station in Alabama. You will hear from both state and national speakers and hopefully come away with a desire to make application for the up to $50,000 of grant monies available to help with infrastructure costs.
There is no charge for the Workshops. Please sign up today - just fill in the brief form at the right side of this page - indicate which of the 4 Workshops you wish to attend - and email it to us. We will in turn send you the complete agenda and driving directions to the Workshop locations.
Who Should Attend
The I-65 clean Corridor Workshops are geared to present you with the facts regarding applying for up to $50,000 in grant monies to put in infrastructure for E-85 ethanol and/or B20 biodiesel along I-65.
